UPDATE:

QUOTE
To the DoTa community, we regret to have to make these changes, but unfortunately your fearless leader Matt Marcou made some very big mistakes and took some liberties that were not his to take, and for that reason both Dust Off and eMazing Gaming has had to excuse him from this event.  As far as San Diego goes we could not agree to their cost’s of running this event and Mat had no right making a verbal agreement for this tournament with out notifying eMazing Gaming and getting approval. With only 1 team registered and paid (Check Six) who was notified and agreed to the change, to us this event is at risk of loosing money like VA did. I’m sorry that’s the facts and Dust Off approved the change and was privy to it before it was released.  And warned that certain individuals would kick and scream about it failing.

We also want the community to know that we were given the opportunity to kill the whole event and use Dust Off’s sponsorship in another PC game; we choose to continue and not hurt the community.  We have added more sponsors as of today: Cooler Master, Thermaltake, Kingston and Gigabyte to our prize package and made that even bigger then before as well as the total cash prize has increased..

I suggest you read the PDF’s as well to see how far we have gone to make this a win/ win situation for all involved, Gamer, Sponsor and Event Provider. Not to mention the fact we are allowing half of the event dates to be voted on by you, the community and read the over prize money again there more then before.

Also if teams want to commit to SD, I will personally work with them to see if this can happen, but not with 1 team registered and paid for.

Note: New rules, no paying at the door, we have to have 12 teams at least registered and paid from here on out, we can not afford to take losses due to teams not showing up.

We will monitor the situation and feedback, if we feel the community does not want a US DoTa event, then we will cancel it and move on to COD4 of TF2.

J. Tyler/ CEO
eMazing Gaming

Also, read this PDF for any questions about the whole tournament.

Entire format of the series is changed, and San Diego qualifier disappears less than 2 weeks from when it's supposed to take place. Nice.

This is fucking bullshit.  How do you stop a tournament that is already taking place?  This means VA and SD are now pointless....sweet.

Oh yeah, good fucking idea having the LAN DURING SCHOOL.

"New and Improved" my ass.

Not to mention they don't even have any sort of announcement for it on this "Howie's Game Shack" website -- DotA isn't even an official game there.

lol this is going to fail so bad, probably like one and a half teams are going to go to it.

I'm going to be writing a petition to the sponsors, hopefully something will come of that. If you were planning on attending San Diego, have already attended Virginia, or were planning on attending Chicago, please contact me and we'll have you sign it and give your input.

I have never been this excited about having taken the decision not to go to a LAN as I am right now.

We were intending to go to San Diego, but when Marcou left we decided not to.

I feel with all of you who already had it all planned and booked. I'm willing to sign anything!

Maybe I should go to a LAN qualifier, grab myself a default win and drive home in a truck of Dust Off. Sounds Emazing.
