freedb is also good, but its more of an addon to a music player rather than a search engine type. A bit hard to explain. Wikipedia it and see if you want to add it to the list.

Thanks for the sticky smile.gif))

Just added freedb.org + http://synthtopia.com/Articles/ElectronicM...StylesTech.html to the list

And I need some good websites about Jazz, Hip Hop, house and Dance music . There has to be someone somewhere that could give me a few good links smile.gif.

Anyway, I'll add a website on Neoclassical Music next update, and maybe a few about Folk.

http://www.chronixradio.com
A very good web radio focusing on metal only. I guess you must suscribe now (it wasn't required a few months ago).

For the jazz/funk websites, I will ask my bass teacher. He is a funk freak.

added http://chroniXradio.com , http://www.live365.com/stations/kylegann  and http://www.fluxeuropa.com/ to the list

I'll probably try to reorganize my post a bit better later this week to make it easier to navigate

Can't believe I forgot to mention Last.fm. Its a great website for general music. Its also an internet radio website and is a good resource for finding similar artists to what you currently listen to. I use their plugin for iTunes and my iPod and found out about a lot of new electronic/metal/everything through this website.

I didn't see Winamp on the list of media players, I find it very good. www.winamp.com

Except for that, great compilation, I don't think I have anything to add.

I know nothing about rap, so it's not surprising that I don't know what the good websites are. And well, if you and the other rap lovers on this board would suggest me a few links instead of posting and stating the obvious, there could be a few rap links on the list. I won't go through the hassle of finding good and informative websites myself about a genre I don't like.

added deathmetal.org and hessian.org

Another really useful site is The Hype Machine, particularly the "Popular" section, which gives you a top 50 chart of the most viewed/downloaded music blog tracks. It's great for indie/electro kinda stuff. It's also the best place for getting remixes, b-sides, covers and rarities for your favourite bands.

Added to the list (I wasn't sure where to put it, so I put it in rock, if you or anyone else has a better idea, well please tell me).

I would add www.imeem.com to the list. It's kinda of youtube for music only, but the songs are loaded extremely fast.

http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ Ishkurs guide to electrono music. Has a graphical map of different electronic music genres and when they were invented, also has lots of samples for each style.

metacritic.com

I've been visiting this site recently, and it seems to be a pretty good idea. I'm not sure what the selection is like though.

http://www.absolutepunk.net
http://www.sputnikmusic.com

Both good sources for primarily rock/metal oriented reviews and news although they do cover other genres like hip-hop/rap/RnB/electronica.
