Been following the game, Dragon Age: Origins, and it looks very f'ing bad ass. It's practically the spiritual sequel to Baldur's Gate on crack. Supposedly there is over 1million different permutations of choices/options in the story line so each replay is a different experience.

Anyone else following or getting this game?

Saw it and thought it looked pretty cool. Might get it at a later time when my computer graphics stop failing. Playing a game like that on lower settings doesn't sound fun. tongue.gif

Playing an RPGish would be fun again, too. I like ability to take the story whichever way you want, too. Well, to a certain extent obviously. biggrin.png

I am.

The cinematics looks really badass, though I know that is not relative to game experience. I hope it doesn't play like Neverwinter Nights, I am not really fond of its combat system.

Yeah, I dunno it looks okay, seems very standard fantasy shiznitz, bound to be at least good considering it's from Bioware. I'll believe meaningful choice when I see it.

I might get it.  Though the title "Dragon Age" is b-movie-cheesy.

Oh wow, TGA still roams the forums?

Anyways, I've heard of it before, sounds okay. If I get the time I might.

After reading Buck's (the owner of GameBashee) review/preview from when he got invited to play it in Edmonton, I pre-ordered the collector's edition. I'm really excited for this game and hopefully it live up to the developers' promises. Good RPGs just don't come around anymore.

The last three were Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal (2000/2001), Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (2004) and The Witcher (2007).

Look at the gaps. Seriously. None of the newer games were even close to being considered a decent RPG. Most of what we get now is geared towards "graphics fan-boys" that will play and love shallow game like Oblivion, just because it looks pretty.

But once again, I am looking forward to this game and will finally be getting my hands on it, after six years of waiting, on the third of November (next Tuesday).

TBH I pretty much never finished any Bioware game since BG2.

I'm gonna put my legs up and relax in the meantime instead of getting this, after all I just sent in my grahics card for repair.

Reviews are very promising and say the story's good and there's a good deal of variety. Think I'm going to have to get this. I'm amazed how much it's stayed under the radar though, I heard about it when it was announced, then nothing, then oh shit it just came out. Sounds like some PR rep and their job need to go their separate ways.

They certainly had an awful way of advertising, in my opinion. If it weren't for GameBanshee's review, I doubt that I would have pre-ordered it.

What's also really interesting is the length. In BioWare's recent contest, team Hungary played the game for twenty four hours, getting farther than any other team, and only achieving 16% of the game.

You sure it was under the radar? All the gaming sites I read hype this up twice as much as Borderlands and 10* as much as MW2 (not that MW2 deserves any hype to begin with, with a ripoff pre-order price on Steam and the constant shooting-themselves-in-the-foot by the IW and Activision)

BioWare never really talked a lot about it until the summer of 2009, from which point on they made the site and started touring conventions and inviting reviewers to try the game out.

I'unno, it might have just been me ignoring it because it sounded very generic when it was first announced.

How heavy is it on the graphics? I might get it if it's not too bad.
