Start from the first one of course, the episodes don't make sense if you play them out of order.

I mean do i have to start from the very first game? If no, which is the best of the series?

Starting from the very first game is good, especially since there's a Special Edition remake with HD graphics and full voice acting.

My personal favorite is LeChuck's Revenge (2nd title in the series). Then 1, 3, and the latest Tales of Monkey Island. There is no 4th title in the series tongue.gif

MI1 and 2 were by far the superior games because they were written and produced by the creator, Ron Gilbert. MI3 and 4 (yeah, I also acknowledge that 4 DOES NOT EXIST) were when LucasArts were milking money from the popularity of the series and Ron Gilbert had left by then, so the same magic that was in the first two games was not there. MI3 was still a decent game, but just didn't have that "it" factor that made me play MI1 and 2 over and over again just to go through all the comedy and the quotes again and again.

I kinda disagree. I absolutely loved MI3. It does have a different feel than 1 & 2, so it might be a matter of different taste = different opinions.

Also MI2 SE fuck yeah. I've seen a couple of screenies and I love the artwork.
